QuickReporter for ITM is a simple yet effective solution for generating
reports on resources managed by the new IBM
Tivoli Monitoring (ITM and ITCAM) products,
that provide neither native reporting features
nor an out-of-the-box integration to reporting
systems
|
|
QuickReporter for ITM is based on BIRT, a proven open-source technology that is
part of the Eclipse project, and does not
require any database skill or knowledge of
Tivoli DataWarehouse (TDW) data schema.
QuickReporter for ITM provides the ability to generate both predefined
and custom reports. PRIMEUR has implemented
a large catalog (hundreds) of predefined
reports for the following resource managed
by Tivoli: operating systems (Windows, UNIX, iSeries and Linux), databases (DB2, Oracle and SQLServer), Active Directory,
WebSphere MQ, WebSphere AS, Exchange, Microsoft
Clusters and others. Some sample of the available
reports can be downloaded from PRIMEUR web
site (for Windows, UNIX, Linux, WebSphere MQ, DB2, OS/400, Oracle, Exchange, WebSphere AS, SAP) .
QuickReporter for ITM has been certified by IBM as a Ready for Tivoli solution and it is published on IBM OPAL (Open Process Automation Library) website.

| Enhancements |

QuickReporter for ITM version 2.2.0.0, released on July 16th,
provides the ability to authenticate users
via Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server (TEMS)
and specify what reports each user is allowed
to view. Moreover, an additional Report Library
for SAP (to be used with the ITM for Applications
mySAP Agent) is made available. This release
is based on the latest version of BIRT (2.2)
and leverages new features of the BIRT engine
such as dynamic crosstabs.

QuickReporter for ITM main features are:
- Reports can be generated in both PDF and
HTML format
- Reports can be generated, either at scheduled
time or on demand, and can also be forwarded
by e-mail to predefined recepients.
- Reports can be generated for resources managed
by Tivoli, as discovered from TDW, either
for specific resources or for predefined
or dynamic group of resources (respectively,
a specific subset of your Windows system
or all the database instances available at
report generation time)
- Reports can be of different types: trend
or rank; daily, weekly and monthly based;
single or multi-metric
- Reports can be generated either from predefined
models defined in Report Libraries provided
by PRIMEUR or from custom reports that can
be easily defined (e.g. by specifying the
involved metrics and time intervals of interest)
and integrated in QR4ITM
- Predefined reports can be personalized, by
specifying fonts, colors, background, spacing
between the graphical elements and (company)
logo
- An user-friendly Web interface (see figure
below) can be used to both configure (admin
role) the reports to be generated and to
view or save (user role) generated reports.
