Quick Reporter for ITM a solution for generating reports on resources managed by the new IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM). Indeed, while the new ITM version 6.x (based mainly on Candle Omegamon technologies) is a very effective and simple monitoring solution, it provides neither native reporting features nor an out-of-the-box integration to reporting systems.

Reports are automatically generated by Quick Reporter for ITM by accessing Tivoli Datawarehouse (TDW) v.2.x databases (all those supported by ITM 6.x). Therefore, users are not required to have knowledge of the ITM/TDW schema or skills on databases or Business Intelligence reporting tools. Quick Reporter for ITM complements IBM monitoring solution with reporting capabilities, thus making your Tivoli management environment ITIL-compliant.

Quick Reporter for ITM has been certified by IBM as a Ready for Tivoli solution and it is published on IBM OPAL (Open Process Automation Library) website.

Version 1.2 of Quick Reporter for ITM, released on June 15th provides a large catalog (hundreds) of predefined reports for the main operating systems (Windows, UNIX and Linux) and databases (IBM DB2, Oracle and Microsoft SQL) managed by ITM 6.x. The new version 1.3 of Quick Reporter for ITM provides an additional (also large) catalog of predefined reports for iSeries and Active Directory. Sample of the currently available reports can be downloaded from PRIMEUR web site (for Windows, UNIX, DB2, OS/400, Oracle, Exchange).

Quick Reporter for ITM main features are:

• reports can be generated at scheduled time or on demand
• report generation can be defined for specific resources (discovered from TDW)
• report are generated in both PDF and HTML format
• several report types are available: trend, summary or rank; daily, weekly and monthly based; single or multi-metric
• report look&feel can be personalized: fonts, colors, background, spacing between the graphical elements and (company) logo
• user-friendly Web interface (see figure below) to both configure (admin role) the report type and resources and to view and save (user role) generated reports.
