PRIMEUR is pleased to announce Release 2.2.1 of Orchestration Suite Enterprise, the product that provides Data Moving governance features, such as discovery, catalogue monitor and report, for Managed File Transfer products like SPAZIO, NetView FTP, C:D, XCOM, FTP and others.
One of the most important features of Orchestration Suite version 2.2.1 is WMQFTE management.
The purpose of the Orchestration Suite is to provide the company with a solution that makes it possible to catalog data flows, both internal and to/from the outside, support and optimize the planning of transfers and provide an audit trail system at the various company levels (operators and system managers, applications and business) tailored for the various roles.
The tool is also able to discover and catalog all the transfers that have taken place, in a semi-automatic manner, and can check whether each flow catalogued complies with the established service levels, generating alarms in the case of faults or discrepancies.
Enhancements
- Support for a new transmission channel between agents and server: IBM WebSphere MQ
- Support for new recognition criteria for flows
- this version can recognize a flow that starts with/ends with/contains a set of characters
- recognition via job name that triggers the FT
- Management of history for composite flows
- Introduction of the concepts of Directory and File Group as new elements of Orchestration Suite in the movement of data, for now usable only with WMQFTE
- Support for Oracle 10g
- Support for DB2 9.1
New FTs and MFTs managed
We have released a number of components in order to create native support for the Sterling Commerce product Connect:Direct in both z/OS and departmental environments.
The log information produced by the Sterling C:D product is captured by the Orchestration Suite agent and sent to the server by means of the SPAZIO MFT/S, FTP and WebSphere MQ protocols.
The Server provides the following services on the logs received:
- Discovery: possibility to identify C:D logs from the flows by means of recognition criteria and to insert them in the Orchestration Suite database
- Catalogue:
- possibility to create C:D flows (using the C:D copy to and C:D copy from steps)
- define cut-offs
- define all the application or business entities available
- Monitor:
- display of the extended information captured
- correlation of the two logs (Source/Dest) produced in a C:D file transfer
- evaluation of completion status, and then whether all steps of the transfer are completed
- evaluation of cut-offs
- management of non-events
- status notification
Native support for the FTP protocol in a z/OS environment
The log information produced by the FTP z/OS server is captured by the Orchestration Suite agent and sent to the server by means of the SPAZIO MFT/S, FTP and WebSphere MQ protocols
The Server provides the following services on the logs received:
- Discovery: possibility to identify FTP z/OS logs from the flows by means of recognition criteria and to insert them in the Orchestration Suite database
- Catalogue:
- possibility to create FTP flows (using the FTP put and FTP get steps)
- define cut-offs
- define all the application or business entities available
- Monitor:
- display of the extended information captured
- evaluation of completion status, and then whether all steps of the transfer are completed
- evaluation of cut-offs
- management of non-events
- status notification
Native support for the IBM product WMQ FTE
The log information produced by IBM WMQ FTE is captured by the Orchestration Suite agent and sent to the server by means of the SPAZIO MFT/S, FTP and WebSphere MQ protocols.
Log information relating to the file transfers carried out (relating to the transfer of a file) is captured as well as log information relating to the file transfer operations carried out (start of operation, end of operation).
Orchestration Suite allows the management of WMQFTE operations both on a single file and on a group or directory. Therefore, on this product Orchestration Suite provides services relating both to simple operations (sending of a file) and to complex operation (sending of a set of file, by means of regular expressions, or entire directories, and any subdirectories).
The Server provides the following services on the logs received:
- Discovery: possibility to identify even articulated WMQ FTE flows (Composite Flows) by means of recognition criteria and selection of all the instances belongings to the same flow; the flows identified can also belong to Directories, or File Groups, depending on the type of criterion used in order identifying them.
- Catalogue:
- possibility to create MQFTE flows using the available steps (MQFTE send)
- define cut-offs
- define all the application or business entities available
- Monitor:
- log viewing
- display of the user areas specified by the end user during sending
- evaluation of the completion status for each instance sent
- evaluation of the completion status for complex operations involving a set of files (Composite Flow Monitoring)
- evaluation of cut-offs
- management of non-events.
Support for SPAZIO MFT/S
- Support for the new SPAZIO MFT/S connectors in a distributed environment, released in version 2.3.4: FTP, FTP/S, SFTP, C:D
