PRIMEUR is pleased to announce Release 2.2.0 of SPAZIO Orchestration Suite Enterprise, the product that provides Data Moving governance features, such as discovery, modeling and monitoring, for Managed File Transfer products such as SPAZIO, NetViewFTP, C:D, XCOM, FTP and others.

The purpose of the Orchestration Suite is to provide the company with a solution that makes it possible to catalog data flows, both internal and to/from the outside, support and optimize the planning of transfers and provide an audit trail system at the various company levels (operators and system managers, applications and business) tailored for the various roles.

The tool is also capable of discovering and cataloguing all the transfers that have taken place, in a semi-automatic manner, and can check whether each flow catalogued complies with the established service levels, generating alarms in the case of faults or discrepancies.

New Features

Look & Feel

A major overhaul of the product look and feel has been performed, including but not limited to:

  • Color palette revision
  • Tree view apparence
  • Dynamic resizing

Protocol dependent Flow Steps

Send and Receive modeling steps supported by previous versions have been replaced by new and protocol dependent steps, for each supported protocol, including for instance:

  • SPAZIO Dispatch, SPAZIO Acquirer, Native SPAZIO Transport Pr4
  • FTP Put, FTP Get, FTP/S Put, FTP/S Get
  • C:D copy to, C:D copy from
  • XFB/CFT send, XFB/CFT receive

These steps are honored in all the Manager feature:

  • can be used in creating new flows during the modeling phase
  • are automatically matched during the Flow Discovery/Bottom-up creation phase
  • are shown and can be searched during the monitoring phases

Business and Middleware monitoring

The Monitor WebUI has been redesigned, in order to:

  • Give business users the ability to monitor flows from a business perspective; this feature is available for recognized Flows, and for “planned but not yet run” Flows too.
Data specified in the modeling phase can be shown and searched: Company, Location Environment, Item, Logical Area, Job, Application/User, together with the Flow Business status, including cut-off (over completion or duration) and flow completion.
The steps specified in the modeled flow impact the Flow business completeness evaluation
  • Give IT users the ability to monitor flow middleware data, coming directly from the monitored infrastructure, including fileName, Repository/Endpoint name, file size, etc.
Middleware status can be monitored as well: complete/running, with/out error.
Two flavours of middleware monitoring are now available:
    • A “Lightweight” interface, which enables operators to stay focused on flow instances considering only key attributes of a flow and its status
    • A “Full” interface, which shows all the available flow attributes

Monitored data can now be saved in csv format directly from the WebUI.

Composite Flows

This release introduces support for mediated flows monitoring. Mediated flows are flows that include operations performed by a mediation broker, like IBM WebSphere Message Broker.

As a first implementation, support for PRIMEUR SPFE (SPAZIO File Extender) for IBM WMB nodes has been shipped.

Several mediation pattern can be implemented using SPFE nodes:

  • File to File/s
  • File to Message
  • Message to File/s

Orchestration Suite is now able to load SPFE logs, correlate them, evaluate the end-to-end status of a mediated flow, show this status in the Monitor WebUI, for each of those patterns. Dynamic routing or fan-out can be monitored as well.

Reporting

A new reporting capability has been added, enabling users to:

  • Create their own reports, using the usual standard company reporting tool, and directly accessing to the Manager maintained reporting table
  • Use the shipped report templates covering most common usage scenarios and requirements, like Dashboards, Resource Summary usage, and top data on several metrics enabling management-by-exception on the FT/MFT infrastructure.
Reports generation can be scheduled; created report instances are stored on the file system and can optionally be sent via e-mail.

Protocol Support: FTP, FTP/S, XFB/CFT

A completely new Orchestration Suite Agent is shipped in order to cover scenarios where SPAZIO MFT/S managed protocols are not used.

In this release, the portfolio of FT/MFT protocols on which Orchestration Suite can provide its services has been extended to include:

  • FTP, FTP/S, in the following standards: W3C, xferlog, IBM Aix log format
  • XFB/CFT, in the following protocols: Pesit, EteBac, Odette
