Centralized control and Secure File Transfer using Internet protocols, WebSphere MQ technology, the most widespread OEM transports and Home-made (RYO) File Transfers
PRIMEUR has built a modular product that provides powerful managed and secure file transfer solutions to the broadest range of multi-platform and multi-protocol scenarios.
SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite is a comprehensive solution set designed and built to meet all your file transfer requirements, based on a de-coupled, store and forward, mailbox architecture. Files to be transmitted are stored in the mailbox on the sending system and then, at some later time or immediately depending on the configuration and availability of the target system, forwarded to a mailbox on the destination system.
Users need not concern themselves with establishing connections, synchronization and recovery processes in case of failure when different applications need to exchange data in a networked environment. Applications simply move data into the local mailbox.
SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite provides the basis of solutions for:
- Management and control of data/file transfer over different technologies and protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP(S), SNA, WebSphere MQ, FTP(S), SFTP, SMTP, S/MIME, NetView FTP, NetMaster, Connect:Direct, Axway XFB, CA-XCOM, SPAZIO

SPAZIO File Services Governance (previously called Orchestration Suite) Enterprise Functionalities
The Modeler allows:
- Analysis of the flows of files throughout the company network by identifying and cataloging flows in production using support tools to automate the next 'Modeling' phase. This capability to take a census of the existing situation (Flow Discovery) allows a quick deployment of the product in a running environment and to obtain the benefits faster. The discovery phase of the Modeler is based on two components: a batch utility that allows to build infrastructural data from the activity data collected by the monitoring phase and an online application that discovers new flows not yet modeled but already running in the infrastructure.
- Modeling of the infrastructure in which the data is moved, in particular:
- Flows, modeled from the activities that identify the flows in production carried out during the analysis phase (automatic mode) or by inserting new data. Hierarchical grouping for flow definitions. If the movement of a flow component goes wrong, the whole flow is invalidated.
- Companies, applications and users (actors) that produce and use flows
- The rules that the file flows must respect (cut-offs, warning periods)
- Exporting the modeled flows as JCL, shell, bat, BPEL or cmd depending on the environment, in order to automate the creation of operating procedures.
- Modeler is able to prepare control statement also for other proprietary FTs
- Reporting. A powerful facility that allows to export the information from the DB and publish it in a flat file with an ""out of the box"" plug-in or with a custom developed plug-in in any format or protocol including XML. Rich set of information exposed in the detail views and in the description of the panels with optimized management of long search result lists.
The information created by the Modeler are inserted in a Database and include details on the data flows such as order of execution, parameters, characteristics of the files involved, where they are executed, date, time, frequency of sending or receiving etc.
The Monitor: this is able to provide comparisons in real time between the activities planned (sending and receiving) and those that have actually occurred within a given time frame. It is configurable: the user decides which items of information to display on the screens, and can filter them on time intervals, groups or specific machines. In this way it is possible to get answers to questions such as:
What has taken place in my data moving infrastructure?
Have the branch office applications been fed correctly?
Has the central node received the new sales data?
What is taking place?
Which applications are not receiving the expected data?
Did the information arrive within the established time limits?
What is expected to take place?
Before what time are the branch office orders expected?
What are today's deadlines?
It is also possible to customize a service for the notification of important events. Such a service could, for example, signal a flow that has not terminated properly, or a cut-off that has not been respected etc.
Archiving. The contents of the monitor DB can be archived in historical tables (on request or scheduled), in order to deal online only with latest data, improving access time, while keeping all data available for auditing purposes.
The Data Mover Agents operate on nodes where the File Transfer is active and acquire information from it. The information is then sent to the Monitor DB allowing control of the activity of the node. The architecture of the agent allows to control file transfers that use any kind of FT technology (beside SPAZIO also FTP, C:D, Netview and others) as illustrated in the diagram.
Product Info
Development - Was your product created using SOA?
SOA components have been added in as the product has developed. Web Services can be used both as an invocation mechanism to start file transfers and to transport files.
Does your product adopt Interoperable standards such as support for SOAP, WSDL and UDDI?
SPAZIO Web Services Access Point interoperates with SOAP environments. It is also possible to interact with SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite using specific Web Services with SOAP technology with Attach.
Service Bus - Do you utilize a service bus? If so is that service bus accessible by the end user?
The functionality of our own internal transfer protocol, ISC PR4 meets the definition of a Service Bus. Substantial parts of our externally exposed interfaces/service are underpinned this internal bus.
Product OEM'ed — Is your product OEMed by another vendor or service provider?
SPAZIO File Extender (SPFE) – a component of SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite – is OEM’d by IBM under the name IBM Message Broker File Extender (MBFE). MBFE provides file enablement/file brokering capabilities to WebSphere Message broker, while SPFE is wider in scope and brings full native SPAZIO MFT/S enablement to WebSphere Message broker. SPAZIO MFT/S core file transfer engine has been OEM’d by several financial sector service providers and sold by them to their customer as a file transfer software appliance.
Management and Integration Functionality
Callable API - Does your product have a callable programmatic interface?
We have a multiplatform API with language bindings for C/C++, Java, Cobol (z/OS only), Assembler (z/OS only) and RPG (iSeries only). The Java interface (SPJMS) is delivered in the form of a JMS-like provider (deviation from the JMS specification is required to cope with file specific requirements not satisfied by the standard message oriented JMS interface). We also have .NET C# interface in Microsoft environment. In addition to APIs, the most common way of interfacing to/with SPAZIO MFT/S is via its batch/command line interfaces, either interactively or within a broader end-to-end scheduling framework.
Adapters for Integration — Does the suite offer pre-packaged adapters for its API?
We provide technology adapters for:
- File to message transformer (FMTJ), which enables the plugging of any standard JMS to SPAZIO MFT/S, basic routing and transformation capabilities are made available via user exits.
- SMTP, which enables any standard e-mail client
- .NET Component, for any Microsoft desktop application (e.g. Excel).
SPAZIO File Extender itself (see also answer about OEMs) is often used as an adapter between a EIS (such as SAP) front-ended by WebSphere Message Broker and SPAZIO MFT/S.
ADK (Adapter Development Kits) — Do you offer development kit for environment to create individual adapters?
If neither FMTJ nor SPAZIO File Extender scenarios are applicable and a bespoke adapter needs to be written, the most common way of doing it is using one of the API set, either in its native form or in its JMS-like form. Our SmartClient component enables the creation of specialty adapters in the .NET environment (including Microsoft Office suite) in a timely and cost effective fashion.
Interoperable Interfaces — Can your suite be exposed as one or more interoperable services for invocation?
File Transfer services provided by SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite can be invoked in several ways:
- As a Web Service: suited for composite MFT + new generation ESB scenarios
- From the command line: suited for MFT + enterprise Job Scheduler scenarios
- Via a standard protocol client (FTP, FTP/S, SFTP, SMTP and HTTP): suited for scenarios when transparent hub replacement (e.g. FTP Server) is required.
Guaranteed Delivery via Client Side Application — Does your client side application support guaranteed delivery?
Yes. SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite is available in three flavours:
- A Smart Client for the .NET platform
- A multiplatform command line / API based version for all distributed platform
- A browser plug-in
When using the ISC SPAZIO MFT/S protocol, guaranteed delivery is supported. If another protocol is used, SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite will obviously monitor and report on the status of a transfer but the quality of service will only be as good as the protocol allows.
Mail boxing (Store and Forward) — Does the suite support Store and Forward capabilities for Asynchronous communications?
SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite (server) is based on an asynchronous Store and Forward mailbox (queue) architecture. This means files are queued within the mailbox before being sent. This has the advantage that the receiving client/server does not necessarily have to be active when the file is sent. On top of providing the essential asynchronous and Store and Forward infrastructure, SPAZIO MFT/S Mailbox plays a pivotal role in other areas such as:
- End-to-end policy drive file lifecycle management; example policies include: selective archiving, expiration, pre-processing, post-processing
- Metadata management: metadata can be associated to a file when entering SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite infrastructure and can later be augmented/modified when applying post-processing or transporting it from one node to another or simply for tagging purposes in order to drive subsequent smart searches or complex routing.
- Versioning: several copies/versions/instances of the same logical file can be retained in the mailbox at once (e.g. today’s prices and yesterday’s prices)
- Compliance: the mailbox versioning, expiration and archiving features provide a unique combination of capabilities to effectively implement a compliance strategy.
- Multi hopped file transfer switching: not all types of protocol switching can be implemented in a diskless/DMZ streaming fashion (e.g. FTP to C:D), for these case advanced store and forward plus event management capabilities of our mailbox are required.
Multiple, Concurrent Connectivity Options — Does the suite support multiple sessions concurrently? How many?
There is no set limit to the connection scalability supported by SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite. Each SPAZIO node can be connected to one or more SPAZIO nodes and/or remote servers with any supported protocol. For each destination several file transfer connections can be established concurrently and in a controlled fashion. Several connection attributes can be tuned:
- Parallelism level
- Timed connection activation (e.g. you can have a connection running only overnight)
- Bandwidth restriction
The actual limits on connectivity are set by the hardware and protocol used in each specific runtime deployment.
Platforms Supported — List the platforms supported by the suite.
Transport Protocols Supported — What transport mechanisms are supported?
Open Standard Transports:
- SFTP, FTP, FTP/S (Full FTP replacement)
- HTTP, HTTP/S
- SMTP
Proprietary

Specialized network
SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite contains a framework for the integration of additional/new transports. Many customers have implemented Gateways to integrate proprietary protocols – for instance CGT (Germany) and yModem were recently added for an American customer.
Administration / Partner Provisioning
Trading Partner Profile Management - Does the suite enable users to create store and manage business partner profiles?
With SPAZIO File Services Governance (previously called Orchestration Suite) – the Web based SPAZIO component for flow Modelling, Monitoring and Reporting – both Internal and External partners (in terms of flow consumers and producers) can be defined in the same fashion; furthermore, rules relating to data movement and transformation can be defined as well. For each Business Partner, and for each associated data flow, it is also possible to define required SPAZIO MFT/S controlled transformation under engines such as IBM’s WMB or WTX. The ability to discover each file transfer exchanged with each trading partner, independently of the effective protocol, is provided too.
Trading Partner Provisioning - Does the suite enable users to authorize, test and activate new business partners?
Business partner lifecycle management is straightforward; users can create flows, define consumers, give them authorization to actually retrieve that files, both on internal and external interactions. Moreover, stages and promotion can be exploited in order to test flows.
Role based administration - Does your product include support for multiple user administration based on roles?
Several MFT common roles are supported to manage flow lifecycle (e.g. administrator, scheduler, operator, Center of Excellence, application help desk …); each user interaction (e.g. configuration, administration, governance, archiving, monitoring, deploy, business reporting, status notification) with MFT suite components is mediated by the definition of these roles. External partners are able, mediated by security and profiling features, to access the corporate hub and the provided monitor services, in order to monitor their own file transfer status, progress, and SLA compliance.
Portal/User Interface - Does your product include a portal that can be accessed by internal and external partners?
A WebUI application is provided for internal and external patterns, enabling users to create, deploy and monitor flows.
What Web 2.0 technologies do you support/ encourage?
We are currently building components which enable the execution of file transfer operations exploiting Web 2.0 technologies in order to improve integration-on-the-glass and final user experience.
Automation
Basic workflow – Rudimentary content based routing.
Out-of-the-box, SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite is able to apply basic content routing rules to files moving through its file-based bus infrastructure, exploiting the rich set of metadata associated with files. Predefined and dynamic distribution lists can be used in order to implement some forms of broadcast fan-out routing patterns (predefined) or near-pub/sub routing patterns (dynamic). Multilevel (hierarchical) distribution lists provide, in addition, a side benefit of bandwidth optimization as the file is sent only once for each target node, even if there are several destinations addressed on that node. In advanced content and context based routing scenarios, the SPAZIO File Extender component can be used to leverage WebSphere Message Broker features in the MFT domain.
Business process management – Modeling, testing and rules engine.
Through standard ports SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite enables applications taking part in a BPM to produce and consume files managed by the MFT suite. All data flows can be registered, defined, managed and deployed from a central repository. Governance oriented use cases are provided to manage data flow lifecycle status (e.g. Newly Created, In Production, Withdrawn) and enable controlled data flow promotion from development stage, to QA stage and finally to production stage.
Event trigger processes – Support for triggering processes or other events based on an event.
Event Management (Scheduling/Triggering) in the Mailbox.
- Whenever a File arrives in a Mailbox, an application can be automatically started
- Every time a new File is written in a Mailbox or a Directory
- IBM NetView FTP
- Every time all Files defined in a Table and belonging to a Class
- Full Integration with Job Schedulers such as Tivoli Workload Scheduler (OPC)
- Supports Checkpoint & Restart in Application Triggering
Data Movement Management SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite can manage ‘events’ such as ACK and NACK messages from the internal bus. For more complex scenarios we provide specific hooks for enterprise schedulers (E.g. IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler) that enable “event propagation” from the SPAZIO MFT/S domain to the scheduler domain in order to achieve composite batch scheduling and event processing to the next level.
Business Process Standards - What business process standards are supported by the suite, i.e., BPEL and BPMS?
SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite provides standard ports (JMS/web services based) which help applications involved in a BPEL process to send and retrieve files, or produce and consume their content, even record by record if required. Native ports are provided which help in integrating file-intensive application execution in the MFT domain, through Scheduler technologies. File transfer-based integration flows can be modelled and the associated ports deployed in the SPAZIO MFT/S runtime environment for subsequent monitoring and use in a BPEL process.
Automatic Recovery with Checkpoint/Restart - Does your software support automatic recovery with checkpoint/restart?
Automatic Recovery and Checkpoint/Restart from the point of interruption is always supported when using SPAZIO MFT/S own ISC protocol. For 3rd party protocols checkpoint restart capabilities depend on the specific quality of service provided by the protocol.
Security
Firewall Navigation - During deployment can the suite dynamically discover and assign ports for file transfer?
No deploy time dynamic port assignment and discovery is supported by the product. Port scanning typically leads to “false positive” security alerts. We believe that this [extremely lightweight] feature would not be well received in most enterprise environments. On the other hand SPAZIO MFT/S provides several firewall-friendly features including:
- Fully configurable TCP/IP ports both on client and server
- HTTP tunnelling of SPAZIO MFT/S own ISC protocol for SmartClient and browser plug-in client
- Requester/sender communication pattern support, enabling a one way only firewall traversal (internal network to DMZ) for both sending and receiving use cases.
Proxy: Do you have a proxy agent for a DMZ or one that is deployed pre-firewall? Explain how rules and identity management is done using the proxy.
Yes. One can install a SPAZIO instance in the DMZ and configure it to behave as a SPAZIO Proxy Agent. Files will not be stored in the DMZ but rather forwarded to the front end/back end immediately. The client will authenticate to the DMZ proxy. Within the DMZ proxy an ACL system will control what privileges the authenticated clients have on the target machine.
Explain the Integration/interoperability with third party integration capabilities.
Industry standards adopted: PKCS11, SMIME, PGP e X509. Standard secure transports: SSL, SSH, and HTTPS.
Does your suite integrate with external identity management technologies e.g., LDAP, ACTIVE DIRECTORY, Netigrity?
Yes: SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite can work with any standards based LDAP directory including Windows Active Directory. On IBM mainframes (z/OS) SPAZIO MFT/S access control is carried out through the standard SAF (System Authorization Facility) interface. Therefore, the interfaced Security System could be RACF (IBM Resource Access Control Facility) or any other system that can be called by the SAF component of the operating system.
Proprietary Data Encryption - Does the suite offer PGP key management and or digital certificate/signature administration?
Yes: SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite will interface with all common encryption formats, including PGP, PKCS#7 and S/MIME. Such formats will be both accepted and produced. For standard PKI formats there are interfaces to PK11 standard devices to generate standard key pairs and import certificates. An interface to standard LDAP Certificates and CRLs repository is also provided. For PGP one would rely on native PGP capabilities for key management. SPAZIO will then use the appropriate keys within the PGP Key Ring.
PGP — Which versions of PGP do you support?
X509 Support - Does the suite support x.509? Do you integrate with 3rd party certificate providers?
Yes. X.509 Certificates and PKI oriented standards. As SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite is a public key oriented product, it uses standard X.509 certificates and verification methods. SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite has been successfully inter-operated in major applications with all the key providers of Certificate technology (Entrust, Verisign, and Baltimore being the most important ones). X.509 Standard 3-way Peer Entity Authentication. Within the X.509 standard we also support the PEA mechanism there defined. This allows communicating entities to authenticate each other using the X.509 standard in its 3-way form (the most secure), which does not assume that synchronized clocks are available on the network.
VPN or Dedicated Switches - Does the suite support VPN’s and frame relay?
Yes, we support VPN and frame relay.
What other Security Mechanisms are supported?
The Security Features within SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite include: Cryptographic algorithms:

We have developed significant functionality into SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite to enable our customers to be compliant to these industry standards, as well as ISO-17799 (known in Italy as the DLG 196 Privacy Act). The cited ‘standards’ are a constant reference guide for the on-going development of Security, Audit, and Transfer Archiving function within SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite.
Audit & Logging File Transfer: Capture all events and activities related to the storage and transfer of files Administration Logging: Keep an auditable record of server administrator actions Syslog Support: Integrate logs with a company database or central data repository. Log viewer provides four levels of reporting including verbose for all client-server activity, administration activity and errors. Nested filtering provides custom views of file transfer or other server events. Log the details of encrypted connections to verify encryption strength and type negotiated for a given session. Connection log shows all commands sent to a server and shows the replies from the server.
SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite Base Components
SPAZIO File Services Provider Suite (previously called SPAZIO MFT/S) is a modular product that provides powerful managed and secure file transfer solutions to the broadest range of multi-platform and multi-protocol scenarios. It is indeed a comprehensive solution set designed and built to meet all your file transfer requirements, based on a de-coupled, store and forward, mailbox architecture.
The SPAZIO Mailbox is used for its asynchronous store-and-forward technology. Router is the application used to send (write) files to the Mailbox and the Acquirer is the one that receives (read) files from the Mailbox. Mailbox contains File Descriptors that are very rich File Metadata, with content related attributes, lifecycle related attributes and can be extended with User Defined Data. Manage internal or external files and maintains File Versioning according to Multiple Criteria: Arrival Sequence, Correlation ID, Sender, Browsed Flag. Mailbox is Built upon a Data Store, with several options for Persistence: Proprietary, DB2 (Viper). It enables File Retrieval over Multi-tiered Archival Systems and simplifies implementation of Complex File Retention Schemes.
The Event Manager monitors the verification of certain situations; activate (directly or indirectly) processes on verification or non-verification of the situations being monitored, within specified time windows; monitors the conclusion of activated processes, providing positive or negative feedback that can be managed as events, thus activating the event management cycle. Event Management (Scheduling/Triggering) in the Mailbox: whenever a File arrives in a Mailbox, an application can be automatically started (either CICS or batch on z/OS);
The SPAZIO LOG records the information relating to file processing, transportation, transformation and management (execution of APIs, Routers, Acquirers, Data Transfers, Event Manager, ACK messages etc.). The record format is common to all platforms, so it is possible to run Queries on the LOG records, including remotely amongst heterogeneous platforms (for example, from a z/OS system a user can access the LOG of a Windows system). Logs from distributed nodes may be automatically sent to one or more collection points, where they are loaded into a database, allowing sophisticated processing on file traffic and reliable certification of activities related to the movement of data. The user utilises the data for error tracking, as a base for Service Level Agreements tools and for auditing purpose. Indeed, this extensive audit trail of transfers is instrumental in achieving regulatory compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and ISO 17799 Recommendation. At last, the Log allows sophisticated Centralized Data Flow Management provided by the optional modules of the SPAZIO File Services Governance (previously called Orchestration Suite Enterprise).
SPAZIO MFT/S - JMS API, Web Services Interface, compliant with the JMS (Java Message Services) 1.1 model, allows programmers to develop Java applications that perform SPAZIO file transfer via a JMS-based programming interface which provides access to underlying SPAZIO technology.
SPAZIO MFT/S Enterprise Suite Optionals Components
Transport Connectors
|
Several discrete connectors to support standard Internet protocols and other transports providing the most complete connectivity for Enterprises who need a managed and secure file transfer, integrated painlessly with their existing applications. These connectors allows integration with other producers' File Transfers (OEM) such as CONNECT:Direct, CA-XCOM, XFB-Axway, NetView FTP, NetMaster and so on.
Internet Protocol
FULL Extention (HTTP/S, FTP/S,SFTP,SMTP) allows to manage the supported Internet protocols (HTTP/S, FTP/S, SFTP, SMTP).
HTTP, HTTPS Extention - The HTTP driver acts as a normal web server providing standard services to browsers connecting to it. Integrated with the SPAZIO mailbox (Object Data Base SPAZIO), the so-called Mailbox, where browsers can send or retrieve files. Once files are in the SPAZIO mailbox they can benefit from all standard SPAZIO services. The HTTP driver also supports the SSL protocols.
SFTP Extension - FTP over SSH, means running an FTP session over SSH, also called Secure FTP.
FTP, FTPS Extensions - FTP server and FTP client both operate on SPAZIO servers and on one side interact in a standard way with existing FTP systems while on the other they are integrated with the SPAZIO mailbox. The SPAZIO FTP Server can be accessed from any commercially available client, which can deposit or retrieve files from the SPAZIO mailbox. The SPAZIO FTP client, on board the SPAZIO server, can access any commercially available FTP server to deposit or retrieve files. It retrieves files from the SPAZIO mailbox and deposits them on standard FTP servers, or retrieves files from standard FTP servers and deposits them in the SPAZIO mailbox. Both FTP servers and clients support FTPS protocols.
Proprietary transports to allow co-existence with existing proprietary FT products
- SPAZIO PR4 transport use the proprietary ISC technology, which allows data transfer using SNA and TCP/IP protocols. ISC transmits data using variable windows, taking account of disturbances and loads on the line on which it is operating. ISC provides restart management: in the case of interruption, it can resume activity from the stop point. ISC is multi-platform, operating on servers and on mainframes with equal efficiency.
- Connector to Connect:Direct (C:D) - Sterling Software product is associated to one or more Mailboxes of the SPAZIO mailbox. This means that files associated with that mailbox will be sent and received using C:D. SPAZIO looks after re-mapping SPAZIO addresses to C:D addresses and vice versa. The SPAZIO user talks the SPAZIO language, not perceiving the existence of C:D in any way. SPAZIO looks after the necessary translations into the C:D language. The same is true for the sender using C:D: the C:D. user talks the C:D language, does not perceive the existence of SPAZIO, and it is SPAZIO itself that looks after translating from C:D to SPAZIO language.

SPAZIO File Services Security Suite (previously called SPAZIO MFT/S - DSSP) - Security Link and End to End - is the component targeted at securing SPAZIO Client channels. It is available either in Link mode (PPS green layer), or in End-to-End mode (DSE2E green layer). In either modes total application transparency is provided. The same differences between Link and End-to-End solutions mentioned for the WMQ case still apply. In E2E mode queue-resident files are secure, and not only while in transit on the channel. All products available on Windows/Linux, UNIX (AIX, SUN, HP, TANDEM non-stop, VMS, i-series, z-series).

Data Mover Governance
|
SPAZIO File Services Governance (previously called Orchestration Suite) complements any major File Transfer with a comprehensive End-to-End view of file movement. It allows you to: define transfers, schedule them, monitor the progress and analyze the result of transfers (current/historical).Easy to install and configure, SPAZIO File Services Governance allows you to create with its Modeler component a model of your data transfer infrastructure, using information transmitted by the Agents distributed on the monitored nodes. The Monitor component controls data flows, highlighting inconsistencies with respect to the established model. The SPAZIO Client Suite includes a full range of solutions for all file transfer needs that don’t require the presence of a SPAZIO server:
- Modest volumes of transfer
- Workstation with limited capacity
- The need for simple management
- Limited budget
If any of these cases apply, it is worthwhile considering SPAZIO clients that can communicate with SPAZIO servers, across INTERNET or proprietary (SPAZIO, WMQ) networks.
SPAZIO Clients - ample choice between:
Any plain HTTP(S) Web Browser. This is the simplest way to transfer files to a SPAZIO server. No additional software is required on the client and the user can use any browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc), sending files only with the help of HTML pages. This is made possible by the HTTP driver enabled on the SPAZIO Server, available on any software platform.
Any SMTP Client (with s/MIME): SPAZIO provides the possibility of sending and receiving files through the normal asynchronous mechanism of e-mail, therefore using the SMTP and/or S/MIME standards.
Any FTP(S) Client: FTP is the most widely used file transfer and is also suitable for large files. SPAZIO allows the use of this technology for transferring files to the SPAZIO server mailbox system using any FTP client. The SPAZIO server FTP driver (for any HW/SW platform) allows FTP clients to be interfaced transparently, allowing the user to deal with a familiar tool in order to transfer files.
SPAZIO Plugin for Web Browser, downloaded as a Netscape plug-in or Internet Explorer ActiveX, allows the transfer of single files or tables of files, via HTTP(S) or TCP/IP. Tables (centrally created) contain a wide range of pre/post-processing directives: encryption, compression, etc.
SPAZIO SmartClient allows a full File Transfer Client functionality, through a user friendly GUI. File transfer operations are available in interactive and batch (table based) mode for single or multiple transfers, on networks based on HTTP(S), TCP/IP or WebSphere MQ protocols, deployed and automatically updated from a central server
SPAZIO Client Professional allows a full File Transfer client fuctionality, through a user friendly GUI. Interactive and batch (table based) file transfer operations, with compression and encryption, are available and a scheduler allows planning of single or multiple transfers based on simple/complex time conditions
SPAZIO ClientLight provides a simple command line interface for transferring files (or tables of files) with compression and encryption. Addressed primarily to batch users, it is particularly suited to UNIX environments (though also available for Windows)
SPAZIO File Services Governance (previously called Orchestration Suite) Enterprise Edition
SPAZIO File Services Governance Framework SPAZIO MFT/S - Orchestration Suite Framework complements any major File Transfer with a comprehensive End-to-End view of file movement. It allows you to: define transfers, schedule them, monitor the progress and analyze the result of transfers (current/historical).Easy to install and configure, Spazio Orchestration Suite allows you to create with its Modeler component a model of your data transfer infrastructure, using information transmitted by the Agents distributed on the monitored nodes. The Monitor component controls data flows, highlighting inconsistencies with respect to the established model.
SPAZIO File Services Governance Monitor The Monitor provides the administrator with operational information on the transfer activities, with notification of out of line situations (delays, errors, lack of respect for time frames etc.). Requires a SPAZIO node and, for each managed server, an Orchestration Agent.
SPAZIO File Services Governance Modeler The Modeler allows the model of the data movement infrastructure to be created, automatically identifying the features of the production environment (Nodes, Users, Applications, data flows, deadlines, etc). It also allows flows to be scheduled to be linked to pre and post processing (it is also possible to link instructions to the file specifying how it is to be treated at destination).
SPAZIO File Services Governance Agent - Emitter The Agents gather data from the SPAZIO MFT/S logs and transmit them to the centralized database where they are handled by Monitor. Agents have Extensions for the Transport Protocols supported.
