SPAZIO Data Security Toolkit (DSTK) ver. 3.1 for Distributed Platforms |
|
|
DSTK 3.1 for Distributed Platforms is another meaningful milestone in the development of DSTK, PRIMEUR’s Encryption Flagship product. The new functions now available widen the scope of DSTK usage, support new encryption standards and, in general, keep Data Secure well ahead of the competition in terms of functionality and usability.
The new functions are shown below.

Product Features and Description |
- CRL Management
Performs automatic download and update of Certificates Revocation Lists from an LDAP Server. Allows for enhanced security by making sure that the certificates being presented have not been revoked
- OpenSSL Software support
The vast majority of Secure FT systems in the market, both commercial as well as Open Source, do use Open SSL for secure channel communication. Most of them, though, do not support proper Crypto Tokens, neither in Hardware nor in Software, leaving the door open to meaningful vulnerabilities when the encryption keys are not properly protected. Further more the application authentication mechanism is typically weak and the passphrase protection is very poor (often stored in clear text in the file system).
DSTK provides the framework to support a truly robust Secure FT system by adding the following values:
- Token Management, according to recognized Criptoki standards
- Certificates management (CRL checking)
- Password DB, for system level application authentication
The above functions are provided in “binary compatible mode” to Open SSL so that they can be easily reused by any Standard Based MFT/S system.
As a matter of fact DSTK can be easily “plugged” as a robust OpenSSL replacement for both commercial and Open Source MFT/S systems.
- DSTK Services available from .NET Application Server
Expands the usage of DSTK when used from a .NET client by providing a suitable client layer software
- OpenPGP support per DSTK EE
This will provide support for the popular Open PGP format.
