Primeur at IBM IMPACT 2009:
How can companies reduce costs whilst at the same time modernize and improve efficiency by implementing File Transfer in their SOA/ESB infrastructure

Primeur’s file services governance and secure managed file transfer technology complements IBM’s WebSphere products to cost effectively extend an ESB/SOA implementation to include files as well as messages

Genoa, April 30 2009. How to achieve cost reductions, return on investments as well as SOA implementation in a conversion project to IBM WebSphere MQ and how to further extend the value of WebSphere MQ with Primeur’s technology. These will be the main themes that Primeur – an Italian multinational company specializing in Managed File Transfer, Security and Governance Solutions – will be focusing on this year at IBM IMPACT 2009.

In today's global context, organizations increasingly use File Transfer as an effective solution for the integration and exchange of information internally and with customers, suppliers and partners. Companies often move files using free Internet protocols such as FTP (File Transfer Protocol) with in-house developed software or solutions available on the market. All these products often coexist within the same IT infrastructure.

Primeur’s products, integrated with IBM, help companies to further achieve benefits and cost reductions by enhancing WMQ FTE with Governance and Service Level Agreement management capabilities featured by its File Transfer products, thus enabling you companies effectively to extend an ESB/SOA implementation to include files as well as messages.

With over twenty years’ experience in Managed File Transfer market, Primeur has found that most companies tend to underestimate the size of the conversion project by between 50% and 250% and that some of their main issues deals with which critical file transfers that should be converted first to obtain the greatest return on investment or, again, how will Compliance, Governance, Audit, and Security on an End-to-End basis be applied during and after the conversion project.

These and other themes will be further discussed by Primeur at IBM IMPACT 2009 in a couple of sessions:

  • A joint presentation with IBM entitled "Using WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition to Modernize and Reduce File Transfer Costs" will help show how organizations can have a cost effective transition to IBM WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition (MQ FTE) from File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and expensive proprietary file transfer products.
  • A Birds of a Feather session entitled: "IBM WebSphere MQ FTE- Sizing the Project and Going On to Cost-Effective Implementation" with practical examples, Primeur will discuss how you can effectively and accurately size the modernization project from proprietary expensive protocols to WMQ FTE.

The first presentation will be led by Ben Mann, IBM Product Manager of WebSphere MQ-SOA Messaging backbone, and Peter Sedgwick, Director of Primeur UK & Northern Europe, and it will take place on Wednesday 6th May from 4.45 to 6.00pm in the Venetian Delfino Room 4105.

The second one, hosted by Peter Sedgwick will take place on Wednesday 5th May from 12:00 to 1:00pm in the Venetian Delfino Room 4105.

Primeur will be at IBM IMPACT 2009 at booth S1, Impact Solution Center, Hall D at The Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino.
