PRIMEUR's extensive knowledge base is distributed amongst all of its employees. Competence Centers and Labs are the two organizational structures that PRIMEUR has put in place to better serve its customers. Competence Centers PRIMEUR's organisation includes several Competence Centers. The role of the competence center is to improve the ability of PRIMEUR to deliver well-proven solutions using the latest, innovative technology, products and services, including consulting and training. The purpose of each Competence Center is to seek out the very best resources and consolidate them for each specific technology. Co-operation with a competence center is built on a partnership basis, making the competence center aware of a customer's problems and enabling suitable solutions to be suggested. In past years, a large number of projects have been carried out with partners from industry, research and universities. The choice of such an organisational structure as opposed to the traditional research department, is driven by the need to better support new business opportunities with short time-to-market requirements. Competence centers have a variable lifetime and a large degree of autonomy which enables PRIMEUR to react effectively to the rapidly evolving conditions in information and communication technology. Labs PRIMEUR's development technology centers are based around the concept of Labs which specialise in system and communications software for distributed heterogeneous environments.
